Default Yamaha Drive Question

Our entire fleet are 08 Yamaha Drive carts. Every now and then a cart will just quit mid round and all you have to do is flip the tow switch to tow and then back to run and the cart runs fine. Now the same cart may work the rest of the season or it may do it once or twice more within a few months. But it's always a flip of the tow switch and it's fixed.

This situation will happen it seems with any cart we have. It's always random, and more often than not a cart we generally don't have problems with.

Just wondering what it may be because we had one do this today.

Wow, 8 year old cars in a fleet How old are the batteries? Do you have a Genius reader? It can show you fault codes. The controller can shut down for many reasons, low battery voltage #1.

About half the batteries are fairly new, within a year or two. But the other half I believe are original. We've slowly been replacing them as needed. I also don't have a genius reader. There's word of replacing the carts soon too so chances are I'll never be getting a reader.

Thanks for the input. I was thrown into the mechanic position with very little experience this year. I just worked as a cart attendant for the last six years so it's all new to me. All the help is appreciated.

hey,

yeah I work at a yamaha dealer and the "drive" cars are touchy with voltage. the car will run and shut down on you and people think its all kinds of problems until they think to check the batteries. otherwise the yamaha drive electric usually does not have many issues
