Re: Shuttle 4 Kawasaki Rear End ??
If it was loose it might be damaged. I think that part is roughly $80 but if damaged may tear up a $330 axle. Your call. Torque it to like 140 ft lbs

Re: Shuttle 4 Kawasaki Rear End ??
UPDATE. Skipping feeling returned. I pulled hub off and all the splines looked good. Pulled back seat/engine cover off( shuttle 4 cart). Watched clutches, belt, etc and noticed the belt was not riding evenly on pullies. Looked further and belt had a narrow spot causing it to skip at times like a missing tooth on a gear. It also caused some other noises like possible bad bearings. Installed new belt and now it runs smooth and much quieter. Just wanted to report back for future searchers.

Re: Shuttle 4 Kawasaki Rear End ??
Did you wash the belt? Maybe it's not a big thing with a golf cart. But on sleds and quads the belts have a little bit of wax on them. I always wash in warm soapy water and sand and brakeleen the clutches.

Re: Shuttle 4 Kawasaki Rear End ??
Thanks for the reply. Cleaning would not have helped this one. It had a section that was noticeably narrower than the rest of the belt.

Ya I meant for the new belt. To keep the wax off. But like I said I have no experience with golf cart clutches just sleds and quads. Flat spots are usually caused by idling and improper belt tension or bad bearings |

Re: Shuttle 4 Kawasaki Rear End ??
Ok gotcha! I do recall letting it idle/run in neutral once trying to charge the battery. I guess that started the wear pattern and it just got worse and worse. Sure felt like a bad gear or bearing in rear. Glad it was just a belt.
