Unhappy 99 EZGO TXT Gas - Sounded Like Fan Broke

Was out riding last night, and admittedly pretty fast on a bad road. I recently installed new rear shocks, rear leaf spring bushings, and rear axle isolation bushings / caps. So took it out to have some fun, got about 15 minutes out and while traveling heard a sound as if the fan blades broke and got stuck in the housing. I came to a fast stop. Initially the cart would start but sounded so bad I just didn't want to gas it. After a couple times of waiting and trying again we arranged for a tow, before they got there I tried again but the cart wouldn't start at all, I could hear the solenoid and everything clicking just no go on the motor.

Please Help if you can, wife is pissed ! lol.

Well first off I'd pull the fan shroud of and inspect the fan if that checks out I'd pull the cover off the drive clutch and inspect that as for solenoid clicking charge battery and make sure you can roll the motor over by hand if you can roll the motor over by hand their may be a bigger issue

Try turning the engine by hand at the clutch counter clock wise.

Sounds like if the fan did come apart pieces may have it lodged so it will not turn over.

Does not sound like anything internal (engine)

let us know what you have found!

Ok definitely a broken fan. Found a chunk stuck between fan and block. Does this can only serve a cooling function? Does anyone have a good source to purchase a replacement? Any help is appreciated. Oh yeah after I removed all the pieces the cart started up. Great news.

Thanks

I literally said that out loud when I got the shroud off since no damage was found on the shroud other than scratches from the broken blades. Me thinks previous owner flipped the cart as there are several tell tale signs, i.e. Bent roof struts, body lean to the passenger side

A flip won’t cause that but sticks in the shroud will.

By flip he meant buy and resell not actual flip/roll over i assume but you know what they say about assuming...as for the reason it happened is beyond me

No I think he actually rolled it I thought it may of been enough to tweak the shroud cause a blade to crack and take the rest with them because of the vibration. Total breakdown. Super strange. I am having a really hard time finding this fan though anyone have any links to product or a all in one site.
