Did you have to do any jetting work on the carb with the hi-perf air filter and header?

Rooster59,
Yes, I drilled out the stock jet with #63 (.063) drill bit. If you don’t, the engine runs very lean and gets very hot. I could feel the heat coming up through my custom vented engine access panel. And the spark plugs were WHITE on the tips. Drilled out the jet and replaced both spark plugs, engine has more fuel going into it (more horsepower too), now the excess heat is gone. The engine is now matched to the header output!

This is my custom made black diamond plate VENTED (look closely and you will see the 6 round vent cutouts) engine access panel! Turned out pretty good, and it works great to allow the engine heat to escape the engine bay.
I also put two fresh air intakes on each side right below the seat.

Great. A buddy has a pre-MCI 350 we are swapping into his 94 GXT over the winter. He would like to hop it up a bit. Your project will help.

Where did you find the carb to air filter adapter?

This all came in this Jake’s kit (7055) header, air filter, air filter adapter, breather tube filter, air filter cleaning kit, and carburetor jet drill bit:

You can just buy the air filter, adapter plate, and jet drill bit in Jake’s kit (7055-B).
There is no header in this kit!

I think that is what he is looking for. We may modify the exhaust with a slightly more open muffler but not a header. Afraid that will be too loud. It almost looks like a normal Honda clone air filter adapter would fit but I think it is slightly different. That kit is a little expensive for essentially a filter adapter and filter. If the adapter is different from the clone style then that would justify the higher cost for a lower demand part.

I just updated my last post to include a picture and price from Buggies Unlimited, $127

Remember that he will need to do some clutch work with the power increase.
I did a 200 rpm increase stiffer spring in the primary drive clutch, and I replaced my 36 degree driven clutch with a 28 degree driven clutch. This is where he will get the best torque gains from
