No battery indication on FairPlay EVE

Cannot determine the charge on my FairPlay EVE golf cart. The battery indicator during or after a charge has the lower (left) 2 segments flashing between the 2 continuously. I haven’t driven for any distance, but the lights, horn, seem strong. I’ve tried charging several times and the charger starts at about 7 amps and goes to zero fairly quickly, but the battery indicator only has the flashing 2 lower segments.
What does this indicate, and how do I correct it ?

I forgot to mention when first posted that the voltage when checked with a VOM reads 50V after a charge.
