Re: 83 EZGO Marathon Clutch Operation
The governor cable is not connected at carburetor.
The clutches seem to be working better the more I use the cart. Would I damage anything if I sprayed WD40 on the internals of the driven clutch? |

Re: 83 EZGO Marathon Clutch Operation
WD40 would be ok but I'd use something better like a real lube, especially since you still have the Gov/dust cap to help protect it

Re: 83 EZGO Marathon Clutch Operation
You would want a graphite type spray. Dry-slide, or Molylube are two things to look at. Anything oil based will gum it up.

Re: 83 EZGO Marathon Clutch Operation
Oooops, guess I dropped the ball on that one. I just squirt a little oil on mine once in a while, dry lube is a better idea. Thanks CA for setting me straight and the OP

Re: 83 EZGO Marathon Clutch Operation
I don't know how important it is on the driven clutch, but the drive clutch is very important because of the moveable weights, and pucks. In freezing climates it matters too.

Re: 83 EZGO Marathon Clutch Operation
That reminds me, I haven't lubed up my drive clutch in 2 years. It's the fly-weight 102c Comet type with an enclosed metal cap

Re: 83 EZGO Marathon Clutch Operation
Life is not going easy today. Having difficulty getting enough clearance to remove dust cover from driven clutch. Broke a bolt holding governor assembly to inner frame.

How many ramp buttons should I find in the driven clutch?

Re: 83 EZGO Marathon Clutch Operation
It's a good time to get rid of the governor.
