It should blow a fuse, anything added on the battery should be fused. Its not a good idea to use stock wiring for anything but relays. The cart has ground wires it does not use the frame for ground at all other then the engine. If you add things to cart you have to ground frame or run ground wires. Note the engine has mounts and so does the cradle, if they are grounded other things are likely not. I'd say something is shorting where it does not blow a fuse, most Yamaha the ground is also fused its only like a 10a fuse and blows easily.
