Default G9 solenoid contiuously clicks, nothing happens

1995 G9. My solenoid is continuously clicking when the gas pedal is pressed but motor does not turn over. I tried jumping the bigger posts on the solenoid with a screw driver while pressing the gas pedal and still nothing. I ran a jumper cable from the battery to the starter and the starter will turn. Any suggestions?

Do you have full battery power coming into the solenoid at the big post on the battery side? If so and you jump the two big lugs, it should spin the starter as you are creating a direct current path from the battery.

Same as using jumper cables..

If you have power coming to the solenoid big lug, what is the condition of your cable going from the other big lug to the starter?

Sounds to me like you have either a bad connection or a bad ground.

Full power going to solenoid. Cable to solenoid and from solenoid to starter is good. The night before after I got done putting on a new harness it was running good. Then the next day this happens.

It was ab bad connection. The main power wire to the solenoid from the battery was corroded at the solenoid post and washers.

Connection problems are very common, once I had to actually file the inside of my battery clamps and file the posts on the battery. I used a wire post cleaner over and over and it still would go dead at times, it looked clean but was not. They can test good but then you put the power to them and poof it don't work. The solenoid is a good spot for all those wires to go bad due to it being down there on G2/G9 close to water and dirt.
