Default G1 primary clutch spring

Got a g1 for a good price. Runs but was referred to as the yamaslow. Pulled the clutches since you could tell they were spanked. The spring in the primary looks like it's missing part. Have had no luck finding a new one. Any suggestions?

Not available from Yamaha. No aftermarket equivalent. Used is your only option. You can, however, get a whole new clutch from Plowman's Carts, they are listed in the sponsors page. I think Cart Parts Plus has them too.

I only paid 200 for the cart don't really want to spend 300 on a clutch

Post in the parts section see if you can find someone with a used clutch laying around.

I just got rid of several of those springs along with several clutches. I had an old G1 that had a missing primary spring in the clutch when I bought it. It functioned fine without it. The only difference was it would have a low engagement when it would start. The secondary would back shift for it when needed. You would've never known the spring was missing.

See if a 94c is same diameter spring, the pink is the weakest one iirc. If you have room you can use other clutches like the G2 G9 etc, but some of them are much larger they can stick out too far. I think they have same backspacing but I am not sure. However the G1 runs about the same rpm so they will work if they fit. I think all are 30mm taper.

Years ago I researched all the clutch springs I could find. Dennis Kirk helped me out quite a bit. They sell atv springs and comet clutch parts. There were none that would match up close enough to work. The 94c springs are too small diameter wise. Atv clutch springs are all too large.
