Default pulling secondary sheeve apart

so i figuired my belt is messed up because my secondary sheeve is not sliding correctly so i am going to rip it apart.. Guess i have to get some pullers.. where do i purchase this stuff from Yamaha themselves. Also does anyone have any advice... I pulled the zirc fitting off and black dust fell out so i know zero grease has been added... this is why my belt was turned on its side and doesnt run well... thanks for the input guys.. consalvo

More than likely the bushing on the inner sheave is dry and damaged. Be sure to check your drive shaft to make sure it doesn't have a bur or place on it if the bushing is damaged. If you've caught it in enough time, you may be able to clean the bushing really well and regrease. After you get it all back together, don't over grease it. It will get grease on the belt and then you'll have a mess. I would hand grease the bushing and around the shaft, reinstall, and let that be it until about 6 months and then pump one or two pumps of grease in there at regular intervals.

"power kit" from cpp would do the trick, or can you mess with the preload on the spring? spriddle would have to help me on that one.

Spring/spacer kit for around $45 is the best and cheapest torque mod out there. I'd definitely install one on any lifted Yamaha with oversized tires. First thing I do to all my lifted Yamaha's: bypass the governor and install torque kit.
