Re: Clutch removal?
Thanks Essness! Love it! Anyway, Since I have it off, doesnt appear to be any damage. Whats the procedure for machining??? Both sides? just cutting the little lip/knoll towards the center???
Thanks guys! Glad to have this site in my pocket! |

Re: Clutch removal?
Well, I did some searching on here. I just need to know the correct amount to take off.
I come from a background with machine shop knowledge. I have a friend who has a couple lathes and a mill. I'm thinking we can lay the plates on the mill and make a real nice pass on both sheaves. .100 total? |

Re: Clutch removal?
When you put it back together, make sure you use never seize on the fixed side (keyway also).Even the nut, just put the cotter key in as well.

Re: Clutch removal?
No one knows exactly..... the object would be to take off enough to make a NEW belt sit about 1/8th to 3/116th up out of the pulley, so to speak... that is ideal. You tell us how much that is be sure to work with a new belt.

Re: Clutch removal?
Scottyb,
How are you correctly measuring the 1/8 on the belt? Are you applying a certain amount of tension on the belt to get the measurement? or just laying it between the sheaves and measuring with no tension. |
