G1 clutches go on a tapered crankshaft and are tuned for a 2-stroke engine. They won't work on a 4-stroke straight crankshaft like the honda clone without major work, if it will fit at all. There are much better clutch choices out there.

CPP has the cone adapter to fit the stock clutch to any 1" lawn engine, its $45 or so, or you can have the clutch machined out. Some take the crank out and machine it but the 30mm taper (iirc) is larger than 1" to start with so not sure what clutch they are using or how. There is little tuning difference with a G1 clutch or 4 stroke. Few G1 have the original clutches left, they are cast alum with a spring in them. Most have been fitted with the newer 4 stroke clutch as Yami stopped making the G1 clutch long ago their new one (G2/9 clutch) is smoother but not as good for our use. In fact they stopped making that one too, and now offer a newer one yet as used on the G16 and later or something. The new clutch has a big stamped metal cover usually gold-ish in color. It sticks out so if you lift a G1 a lot it hits the frame, because the original clutch was smaller. OR you can buy a new adjustable clutch as spoken of in clone threads.
