Melex resistors red hot
I have a three wheel Melex older cart and the resistors are red hot in the first three speeds, is this normal? Thanks for the help. Engaging in high speed and stopped the coils cool off.

Re: Melex resistors red hot
This is normal .... The resistors job is to waste amperage and this causes heat. Later carts did away with this prehistoric operating system with the use of solid state speed control. Hope this helps
