Default Looking at 92 EZ-GO

I'm looking pick-up a 92 cart for a fixer upper. I'm told it ran fine until someone ran it into a tree, however, it's been sitting a while. Front plastic is gone, some minor sheet metal damage and a bent front axle (minor). Everything else is there and intact. My concern is the motor, it appears to be a two stroke version with oil injection. My two other carts are four strokes and I'm not familiar at all with the two strokes. Can anyone advise how well they hold up and how easy is it to find parts. It's not a big investment but I don't want to get in over my head. Thanks

Hi gwbrehm, the front cowl isn't that expensive, neither is the front axle, I had to replace these on mine also, don't know much about 2 strokes, mine is a 4 stroke, My Brother in Law has a 87 2 stroke EZGO, his main problem is with the muffler he has 2 off them when one breaks he puts the other on, then repairs the other one for the next time. unlike the 4 strokes the 2 stokes start and run backwards for reverse, and forward for forward, where the 4 strokes shift in the rear end. He also mixes his gas and oil, rather than trusting the oil injector. Good Luck have fun

Thanks for the input, I went ahead and picked it up today. It's a little rougher than I remembered, I'll be happy just to get in running condition. Also found out it's not a 92, according to the serial number it's actually a 1994 2-cycle Marathon. The wiring looks a little crazy, I guess I'm just used to a 4 stroke.
