2006-08 CC DS with IQ
Just sold my old EZ-Go Marathon and am wanting to go with a CC. Nearby, reputable dealer(that sold my dad his cart in '9 has the above mentioned carts for $2k.
Seems to me that a nearly new CC would be good to go, but I have no experience/knowledge of the IQ system. Are there any certain pros or cons that I should know? Or, is there another, better drive system? I am interested in the the DS because I am leery of the Precedent due to its 4/12v system and some of the reviews I have read here about it. Also, I understand the seat is smaller. So: Good cart? Good price? Let me know what you think Rod |

Re: 2006-08 CC DS with IQ
That sounds like a decent price if the batteries are good and it comes with a charger. I have heard of a DS with the 4-12v set-up, but I assume you have looked under the seat. I had an 04 DS IQ which should have been basically the same thing, I had no problems. It is probably the easiest to speed up with speed code 4 or the best bang for your buck is a Plumquick motor $250/20+mph. Some will say the IQ is more expensive to work on than a Series cart, but I have worked on both and have not found that to be the case.

Re: 2006-08 CC DS with IQ
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. As far as I understand, Club Car only keeps producing the DS to show why the PRECEDENT is worth more money.
I still have not seen definitive proof that either the 4-12 system; or the 6-8 system is is superior. I think it is just another big corporation feud where CC threw out VIKING and simultaneously changed their production to 6-8's. COMMENTS please... But I love my PRECEDENTs... |

I believe 6/8v has been proven superior multiple times. Basic battery knowledge says 6/8s is better.
I think CC makes the DS so people that finally unload there Precedent will still buy a CC. |

Re: 2006-08 CC DS with IQ
Ok, since no one can think of a good or bad reason to buy or not to buy the DS IQ system, I will assume that this lack of an answer really means that these carts are great and I should expect many years of trouble-free joy from this cart.
The Precedent has been out of the question from the beginning. However, now that I know that the batts are super expensive, the Precedent wont even be considered. Less roomy and more costly = no way! Now the only things I need to think about are what options to get for my new DS: lift kit, tire/wheel combos, lights, rear seat, and on and on and on!! I'll check the BGW vendors first. Rod |

I am surprised nobody mentioned the Ezgo TXT in this thread? The PDS carts with their $5 speed chips is the best riding & easiest to upgrade cart available ...

Why would 6/8s be better than 4/12s. If 8Vs are so good, why hasn't the auto/truck industry used that configuration? I just bot a Viking deep cycle for $140.00. I truly did not think that was extra ordinary. My BOB CAT 12 Volt battery with 650 cc AMPS cost me almost a $100. As far as the design, the Precedent is by far superior to the "OLD" model DS. I am willing to understand, but put some meat on the bones. |
