If you drain the gas out and let it dry out, will the ball shrink back down?

I do know that anything thats made with petroleum based products will swell over time when placed in gasoline. Try putting a peice of rubber in a glass container of gasoline and it will swell several times its size in an hour or so.
Just leave the ball in there, it aint gonna hurt anything.

Default Ball in tank

I would push another one in there with it!!!! That way you can always say your carts got balls. And if somebody dosen't believe you, Tell em to look in the tank. I worked on a cart last year that had a bottle of asprin in the tank. When the owner picked it up and I showed him he said it was in there for 6 years.

It's very easy...

Place tank with filler tube pointing down...

Drill 1/4 inch hole in golf ball...

Wait till it runs out of gas!!!

Looks like you have three choices:

1. Buy a new tank

2. Cut a hole in the top of the tank, remove the ball and reseal it with the proper silicone sealant that’s gas resistant.

3. Leave it alone

This could be dangerous to remove. Old golf balls are tightly wound rubber bands around a small center ball. If you drill a hole it could pop. (a small explosion) I saw an idiot cut one and it wound up in a ceiling tile. No BS!
With that in mind, I would leave it alone. It will probably continue to dissolve and one day you'll get to clean rubber bands out of your tank! Don't drill the ball!
