Drive clutches should not rattle. Likely there is a loose nut rattling around in there and a bolt (missing a nut) backing out of one of the dogs at the hinge point... Rotate the clutch by hand, sometimes you can hear the nut rattle or fall when you do this, this is worth taking apart for a look see.

I rotated it and heard nothing rolling around in there it almost looks like it is not round and just sort of rings like a cow bell when either engaging or disengaging.

My buddies 94 did that also, we found out that the "buttons" in his drive clutch were worn,
We replaced them and the "tang" went away! |
