Default Trying to remove drive clutch.

I've found info on removing the secondary clutch but I can't seem to find anything on removing drive clutch. Anybody have any info on that?

Buy the puller. Remove the center bolt & fill the bolt hole with grease and install puller with electric or air impact hammer

You need a clutch removal-tool(see site-sponsors,about $20-$25).Remove the center-bolt,then install the tool and tighten. It will pop off the shaft-taper.

I did see there was a puller, just thought possibly there was a trick. I will buy the puller, which sponsor?

I would say http://www.mikesmotortoys.com/ Just because of past experience dealing with him, When I was down and had a trip planned but NEEDED a puller he sent me his puller from the shop box because ordering one meant three more days. This is just one example of many.

I think all you need is a 2" x 3/4" fine thread bolt. and a 3" long x 5/8" solid stock shaft. ( a couple of deep well sockets also work) beats buying one for twenty five bucks. bolt only cost you a couple of bucks. stick the shaft down the tube (hollow shaft) then screw the bolt in. tighten. should start to pop off the taper. good luck. just trying to save you a few bucks.

No, appreciate the tip. Can't see buying the tool for a one time use. Thanks again.

Also, I didn't really realize how the clutch came off, so I removed the 8-10mm bolts on the outer plate of the clutch.

Question, is there a preload on that spring or is the closest hole that line up with the bolt holes???? Don't wanna put it back on and have it not function correctly. I was going to mark it but I was watching tv and wasn't paying attention. **** tv in the garage, should have never put that **** thing in there. Screwed up alot of things watching that.

if you have a 2 cycle engine, there is no preload since it has to work in both directions. don't know about 4 cycle. here is my homemade puller. used a piece of rebar.
