G9 body removal for painting

Hello All.........what a great site..... For a winter project I'm looking to remove all the plastic panels on my 1993 G9 for paint, anybody have exact bolt/screw locations to make this an easier project, as well is a automotive body primer sufficient as a first coat for good adhesion or do i need another product first. Will be using an automotive paint as a final coat and most likely a clear coat or two.... any help in these questions greatly appreiciated...

Welcome gulfman!

Yes, automotive primer first and then sealer will be all you need to prep for the new color. You can clean it first with an automotive car wash product that doesn't have the oils and other stuff that dishwashing soap has and then use a scuff pad to get it ready for paint. Any small repairs can be filled with spot putty after the primer is on. When you are ready for color, use a sealer first, let it flash (semi dry) and then spray on the color. If you want to, go with a base coat / clear coat paint. A simpler way would be to just use a urethane or enamel with hardener and be done with it.

Hey Boys......thanks for the welcome and the advice, will try to snap a few pics when the time comes, still golfing for 3-4 months yet and then look out,
can't believe I'm wishing golf was almost over as I am so itching to start this makeover, my mind will be going 120mph till it happens.......thanks again, GULF

Them golf's must have been some much hated animals , there hasn't been a live one seen in anyone's memory yet people still shoot at them every day , and there is norhing left of them but some little petrified balls .

Anyone have a link that works for the above bolts this link isn't working anymore. I also wouldn't mind any suggestions on the proper primer, sealer and base clear coat products.
