just to confirm, the primary clutch is the one with the giant bowl on the end, correct? where is this spring? inside the bowl?
i'll get ahold of plowman this week and get a clutch kit ordered! |

That looks like the G2/9 primary clutch, unfortunately it has no spring and I have not been successful trying to add one to it. But if clean and lubed they don't work bad. Best thing is to get the motor far enough away from the trans the G2/9 have a tension cable. If you go further it will holeshot better at higher rpm but eventually it will lose top speed.
The G2/9 clutch was sold as a replacement for the original G1 clutch, by yamaha. |

Yeah sounds like you have the newer version of the G1 clutch that was a "replacement" for the original style that had the spring. Sho's right I don't think you can "tune" that style. Take it apart, clean it, lube it lightly on the center shaft and weights and don't use too much lube or it will spray all over the clutch face and ruin your belt.
