G1 Roof
MANY of us have Yamaha G1 carts. Mine is getting close, and I am curious as to what has been done about a roof.
I am getting a used club car roof ($50!) and have considered buying either a Club car or EZGO front support/windshield. Any thoughts on which works better? I am curious who has done what for the back. I have added rear seats, so the old "stock" supports won't work (besides...I don't have those). Plan is to simply remove roof (or unpin front) when lifting for service. Any ideas? Photos would be great, too! |

Re: G1 Roof
I have a G1 roof coming on Sunday and will try to use at least some of the supports. I will def re-engineer so I can raise the rear for access. thinking of possibly a tube frame with two front pins or captured bolts with threaded handles. When I get it figured out I'll post, you do the same!

Re: G1 Roof
Mine is not G1 but early Harley 3-wheel.
I used an Ezgo roof and fabbed supports from 1.25" HSS tubing. Chose an 88-92 club car windshield and made support accordingly. Even in the small town I live in I found two shops that could bend square tubing. My roof is what I call Quik Detach with 4 wing nuts. Rear support stays on body when body lifted. Some pictures with my profile. |

The front roof supports on my top attach at front of roof with two bolts and plastic wing nuts. When flipping back section roof flips with it.See picture of top in my album.
