Default Yamaha Drive 2008 won't run very fast but plenty of torque

Good morning. Playing with a neighbors yamaha drive 48 volt this morning. This cart may run 7 to 8 MPH max. The batteries check out fine and the cart has plenty of torque but I swear at my age I can out run this thing.Ant idea why it won't run very fast?????

Might be that the controller "regen" setting is set lower than normal. Stock should be 10-12 mph. Sorry but only a dealer has the means of resetting it. Do you have a dealer in your area?

? That's insane! Every Yamaha dealer I know is responsable to do covered warranty work, no matter where purchased. Can't beleive they wouldn't do this for you. Can you PM me the companies name?

How far is...The Villages Golf Car's from you? They came up as the nerest dealer (other then the flakes and don't know if I'd trust them with that kind of customer service) Phone # 877-562-4673. Come on up to the Seattle area, I'd do it for free
