I really thought you had an open battery.

Take the connections off (isolate) from the tow, throttle, main, and peddle stop switches and ohm them out, both ways. The controller must have those conditions met before it will work.

ok, I will do that today, although I have been through every single wire many times over.

Today I will take each individual wire in the harness plug, pull it out of the harness, and squeeze it to make sure they are tight on the controller pins. That is the only thing I can think of that I have not did yet. I am doing this out of desperation.

I have had this persons cart for 2 months now, trying to figure this out.

I think after this, I will not work on anymore yamahas.

the problem ended up being the main 15 wire connector ( at the controller) was not seated tight enough. I found out when I would wiggle the connector, every once in awhile, it would make the solenoid click.

So I pushed real hard and even beat on the connector. and it finally started working.

what a troubleshooting nightmare this was!
