Default Jake's Shifter

I believe I read where with Jake's Shifter you can shift from forward to reverse and vice verse without shutting the motor off. If so how does it work ? I tried my stock one at a idle and can do it without gears making noise. Not sure if it hurts anything .... wouldn't think so so long as it doesn't sound like you missing a gear in an truck.

Good question. I'll be watching the replies as I've done this but it hits home kind of hard and stopped after the first time.

The Jakes shifter doesn't change anything in the rearend. It just replaces the original shift knob with a bell-crank mechanism. Unless you can get the rpms down low enough, it's not a good practice to shift with the motor running.

OK thanks . I was just watching their video and the cart he was in was running and he was shifting back and forth. Didn't know how it really worked.
