Arrow Switching from 36V

I am interested in upgrading my '98 G16 from 36V to 48V. Looking for information on what I would need to do. Also heard that it was better to go 8 - 6V batteries ... ? I use my buggy for hunting mostly ...

I'm not the authority on this, but I have learned some things from here. Here is what I know. You will need a 48v compatible controller, solenoid, and a 48v charger. It will also be a good idea to make sure you have upgraded battery cables, at least 2ga. As far as how many batteries, 8 6v's will be better. There is far more amp hours in 8 batteries rather than 6. This means more charge, run time, and battery life. I hope this helps. Maybe someone will chime in if I have missed anything.

Stock G16 f&r sucks, it will burn up. Here is my ezgo conversion. I have been meaning to do a write-up on how to.

I did one of those - at the time I was thinking of a Yamaha conversion to Ezgo HD F&R. Your conversion looks good.

I gave up and went to reversing contactors.
