Building a GOOD Hunting Buggy
I have a '98 G16 36V cart ... that I want to convert into a GOOD hunting buggy. I don't have the money to spend on a BBB or anything like that. The area that I hunt in Indiana has some medium hills but no real big inclines. I am looking mostly for torque in the woods and decent speed to get there. I can appreciate gas engines ... but I want to stay electric. Welcome your ideas and help ....

Re: Building a GOOD Hunting Buggy
You are going to need amps for the torque and that costs money for controller, solenoid, hd cables and possibly motor. If you check with site sponsors some will have motor/controller guides to lead you in the right direction. But this defeats your purpose of $$$$. Bigger tires and lift get you over the stump but you still need torque.

Dont forget to get rid of that weak F&R, or it will provide you with an exercise oppertunity (walking home).

Re: Building a GOOD Hunting Buggy
You're going to need all of the major electrical components replaced plus a change to 48 volts requires a new charger and batteries

Re: Building a GOOD Hunting Buggy
another thought if you're 36 volt batteries are still good like mine were. you can upgrade controller, motor, foward reverse switch, contactor, and wires. then when you're 36 volt batteries die get a 48 volt charger and 48 volt batteries. however if my batteries were dead I would have gone to 48 votes right away.
