Default How do you read a digital battery meter?

I am running a 2009 Yamaha with 4 x 12 batteries. I added a digital meter that shows in the low 50's when fully charged. While driving the cart, the meter will bounce around in the mid to high 40's. On average, when the cart is at rest, what should the reading be when the batteries are nearing discharge?

Thanks

Look at Scott's meter site. He's a sponsor.

I am in the habit of recharging at 49.5 volts or close. That is 70% SOC. They say don't go lower than 50% SOC which is 48.4 volts. Yes, when you are driving the meter moves up and down depending on load. After you stop, give it a few minutes to rest then read it to tell if it's time to recharge. My motto is--if I'm not driving, the cart is charging. Hope that helps.

As I said before---you should never discharge your pack past 50% SOC which is 48.4 volts. If you are wanting to know when your pack is dead---46 volts give or take a few tenths.

Here's a handy chart. Pick your voltage and color then slap it on your cart. It fits nicely on an ezgo tee holder. The meter voltage should be read while stopped at least 5-30 mins to get an accurate reading.

Thanks Sportcoupe. Have done a lot of reading on it and this chart makes it soooo easy.
