They should self adjust via a cam arrangement Jim. Each time you hit the brakes there is a little adjuster that ratchets out a notch to compensate for the wear on the shoes as required. I'd suggest that brake shoe dust or dirt has compromised the auto adjust mechanism and may require a good clean and lube. Shoot a can of Brake cleaner around the mechanical parts and follow up with a fine smear of Lithium Grease or similar on the contact points as a start off point.

Ummmm... CC didn't start to use self-adjusting brakes until 1996!
but, the cleaning and lubing is useful info!

Jim,
On the back of your brake hub, at the 12:00 position there will be a rubber boot sticking out,
Pull the boot off with your fingers, and you'll see a "torx" type bolt head,
you'll need a torx "socket" (or something like that) to fit it,

With the cart on jacks, rotate the drum while "clicking" (turning) the torx bolt,
until you have some resistance from the shoes touching the drum,
then, turn it back a click or two so the brakes don't rub, and reinstall the rubber boot.

Then, if you still have to much pedal travel, that's adjusted at the rod, two nuts, and spring
that are located just under the brake pedal assembly (under the carts floorboard)!
Note: after adjustment, you should have about 1/2" to 3/4" pedal travel before the brakes engage!

whatever they call that do-dad it takes a 7mm wrench..............................

brake adjuster... thingamajig... whatchamacallit... do-dad... Yeah... that's it!

My buddy with a 94, borrowed "a special tool" from our CC dealer, and come to find out, there are misc. sockets to fit it,
It's been 3 years since I/we did his brakes, so the "torx" may not be correct! at least, that's what I thought it was!

Lock and shadow you are right, but be aware
that a six point socket should be used due
to the possibility of striping the adjuster.
