Default starter generator temp

I was just wondering how hot the starter generator should be

mine gets pretty hot havent put a temp gun on it but can only touch it for like a second or 2

yea doesn't seem to matter how long I run it for it runs about the same temp

I may just have baby hands and can't take the heat

Since it turns all the time it's bound to get warm like an alternator on a car, plus it's enclosed unlike an alternator. I've never touched mine so it'll be interesting for me too

I'll check my starter/gen temp this weekend and let you know. Heat does rise... the starter/gen will absorb heat from the engine while its running, and also create it's own heat from generating power.

Checked mine about 2 minutes after playing 18 holes of golf then running wide open for 3 blocks, 118.6*... It was touchable

yea ran my cart about an hour and half straight and i could touch it but it was pretty warm I need to get a temp gun
