That’s not a good thing if that’s the case. I’ve drilled new cotter pin by holes when the factory ones didn’t work. If those nuts work loose that will cause your steering to get funky pretty quick.
No the nuts are really tight... no issue there.

I did run into a problem today. I'm rubbing the front right leaf pretty hard at full lock. How do I rectify

I'm perplexed about that one. See the pic below.....as all I can think of is the king pin housing "tab" (I'm likely not calling it the correct name) is bent.

You have rack and pinion steering,not steering box front end
May want to have both wheels pointed straight ahead, along with rack being centered, then adjust tie rods ends so they fit into spindle arms. That should correct rubbing spring at full lock .😊

I thought I did but apparently not

I'll keep messing with it and see if I can get it right.

New seat covers, buttoned up the AC wiring, Starboard ABS dashboard with separate 12v power, lights, rust and copper paint.
