Default spacers or stud spacers?

It never ends. I put the fender flares on now it appears like i need to add 2" spacers to the rear wheels. I have a 98 gasser with a 6" lift does that sound right to make the wheels match front to back? I did some measuring and it looks like the front wheels stick out 2" further than the rear wheels. so the question is should i get spacers or stud spacers? I would think that solid spacers are better than just stud spacers but hey what do I know . What experience has everyone on here had. If i ever get it finished i will post some pics. Thanks Perk

I wouldn't use stud spacers, you will end up with a wheel or two broken off and rolling down the road by themselves. A good 2" aluminum spacer and new lug nuts will do the trick. I also recommend that you check the spacer nuts (mounted to the hubs) a couple of times after install to make sure they aren't backing off.

Go with the spacers. They are less likely to break. I paid $50 for mine on ebay. They are cut out of a solid block of billet. Real nice pieces.

Thanks for the info it seems to make sense to me that the spacer is better but wanted to check first since the studs are a lot cheaper and i have allready blown my budget on this winter project a long time ago and still have lots to do. Hey i got a good chuckle out of your tits or tires comment i may have to use that one.Perk

The only problem I have ever heard with using stud extenders is that they tend to crack steel wheels. Makes sense. Fine to use with aluminum wheels.....

I keep posting this pic of Hipshot, world champion wheelie king but it's one of my favorites.....those are studs on his cart..

I made my 1½in stud spacers by replacing my stock studs with 3in long ½in fine thread grad 8 bolts and using washers and nuts for spacers and u can use the stock lug nuts because its the same threads and it only cost me $8. I've had no problems with them and I ride off road. I can post pics if u want?

I'm going with the stud spacers after seeing this pic of hipshot for the 3rd time....I'm a believer. I don't do much "extreme" carting anyway.
