yes i do. i am just not familiar on how to use it properly. i only use it for work on the audio setting to see if i have continuity on items.

You can use the continuity setting. When you touch the two meter leads together, you should have continuity. Pull the black wire off the coil and put one meter lead on the wire. Put the other meter lead on the engine block/ground. As you rotate the motor slowly by hand, you should have continuity for the majority of the revolution. At some time, just prior the TDC, you should lose continuity. As you keep turning the motor, you should get continuity again.

ok. so i got nothing when holding one lead to the black wire and the other wire to the battery ground.

let me be more informative. i had no continuity through out the entire revolution.

No continuity at all while turning the motor?
Did you get continuity when you touched the two meter leads together?
Do you have continuity between battery ground and the motor case?

no continuity at all.

I touched the leads and got an audible
I touched the battery ground with the grounding strap bolt and had continuity.

Check it again while wiggling the black wire that goes into the motor. Put the motor at BDC first.

Bottom Dead Center.
Piston at the bottom of the cylinder. You can pull the plug and use a pencil to see when it is at BDC. Don't lose the pencil inside the cylinder.
