I tried to test the s/g at the local OReillys but they didn't have the right program to test it. How would I test the amp draw?

You'd have to take the whole cart to an auto shop or to someone with an amp clamp to test it. Howd it feel turning by hand?

I took the belt off spins by hand easily. Just played 18 holes. The hesitation got longer and about the time I got done it smelled like "clutch" burning. Could I have possibly got the s/g belt to tight? Just seems as if the s/g struggles to turn.....then fires right up

Most people say... "Tighten the s/g belt as tight as you can!"
I did that, and had the same symptoms you have... so much so, it would blow the 10 amp fuse!
I later found that you have to find a "sweet spot" with the belt tension to keep it from slipping,
or being "too tight" which makes the s/g struggle at start up!

Just a suggestion.

Thanks. Will try to find the sweet spot. I certainly do have it as tight as I could.

Make sure to come back and post your results!
I, for one, would like to know if it's the same for older carts, as compared to my newer cart!

Tried to loosen the belt...no help. Then I bought a new belt . Now it runs perfect. All along it just needed a new belt. Thanks to everyone for their input. Just happy it's fixed!
