I have a dumb question on the bypass. Is it simply a T off of the line between the pump and the carb so that any fuel the carb doesn't use goes back into your tank? Where do you return it to? I don't think I have a return port on my tank.

You have to add a fitting to the top of the tank. For an experiment I tried just putting the return line into the tank thru the filler port and into the fuel itself. Still overflowed. You can see my tank top in the yamaha gas section on page 1 of tempo fuel gauge thread which I bumped up

Thanks for the help. I think I'll add a 1/4" NPT bulkhead fitting in the top of the tank.

Do I then, just simply need to put in a T between the pump and the carb so that any extra pressure goes back into the tank?

A simple answer is yes. A more complicated answer is in order if your engine is heavily modified. When I was running the early stock cammed VC 460 even with the 1.3 rocker arms the simple set up was fine. When I went to the heavily modified long rod version I needed to add a restriction to the return line for long runs at high rpms.

Thanks. It will be a simple, stock Predator 420.

I like simple / direct. However, I think I understand. Restricting the return line also makes sense. Perhaps I could just reduce it before it re-enters the tank.

Nice, very clean build! What engine is that?

Thank you for the pic of your return line.

I bought a brass bulkhead fitting. I hope I can reach my hand far enough inside the tank to fasten it. Also hope I don't drop it since brass isn't magnetic. <FacePalm>

My restriction is a 1/4 " barbed end cut off a glass fuel filter fitting . It is positioned inside the return line just before the tank. Works like a charm. I have 5/16 fuel line on all the fuel system.
