Default Re: Gas Smell when running Yamaha FI cart

So I just looked at my cart and Looks like that gasket / rubber connector may be loose. Do you know what this is called so I could look at replacing? Aslo, very interested in the extended muffler to have it come out behind the cart as you mentioned. Can I get this on online, maybe amazon?

Do you know how I can add a pic? Thanks!

Just got under the cart and it looks like the rubber gasket that connects tehe muffler to the engine is a little loose. Does anyone know where I could buy a replacement? Also, think it would be beneficial to get a replacement muffler that extends out the back instead of under the driver side. Any suggestions on where to purchase this? Thanks

PS- The golf cart has a MFG date of 2014 but, my bill of sale states 2016 ... I purchased this used in 2020.. Maybe it sat on the lot for 2 years??

Ok so that rubber mat that wraps around between comes off by taking the two push rivets off of the top, this will give you access to where the muffler connects to the motor...you wanna see if the two large bolts holding it on are tight and run motor in neutral while looking for air blow-by to see if gasket between muffler and casing is still good...That makes since...what is your carts serial number? I'm a Yamaha dealer I can find out some quick info for you...

I'll pull that gasket off tonight and check it out. Attached is a photo of the specs for the cart. I could not locate a "serial #" but, it does have model #. Does this help? Thanks!

I took gasket off and the bolts appear to be well fastened. I do smell the gas when idling in neutral with it off. It it worth replacing that or maybe muffler? Thanks

Does verify its a 2014...the serial number should be on the rear passenger side frame rail looking from drivers side under seat if you would like true delivery date and original dealership info etc...Is possible it was on the lot for a few years that's not unheard of..

There will be the smell of gas if your above the muffler when the cart is running...as stated only way we have found to minimize this is to run a muffler extension out behind rear wheel so it is carried behind cart while running instead of straight up.
