What year cart is this?
So I acquired for free two golf carts. I'm trying to learn as much as I can here. is this an 86?

Well it appears to be a 1986 Marathon...for the first cart....1987 for the second cart
EZGO Marathon models (1976 to 1993) "The serial number and manufacturer's number for these EZGO golf cart models can be found on a plate located under the glove box on the passenger's side of the vehicle. The serial number is either six or seven numbers and does not indicate the model year. The manufacturer's number does reflect the model year. This series will have one letter and three or four numbers which will include two numbers indicating the last two digits of the year it was manufactured. The first is a 79. The internal starter/generator is the give away.
The second is an 87. There is no doubt about that data tag, and the EZGO emblem is mounted on the driver's side, not the middle. The 87 has a split backrest. The 79 should be a single backrest. |
