Default Replacing ignition switch on G29 gas

I got a new ignition for my 2016 G29 with a different/uncommon key. Just part of an attempt to make theft a little more inconvenient. The part looked plug and play so I unplugged the old ignition and plugged the new one.

It works.

However, the fuel/hours gauge is flashing now. I figured the part was defective, but replacing the old ignition did not correct the problem.

Anyone have any ideas why the gauge is flashing? BTW, it stops flashing and works properly when I turn the hazard lights on. Smells like a wiring problem, but the car was fine before the ignition switch change.

Well, I figured it out. It turns out the fuel gauge flashes when the turn signal is activated. I must have activated the turn signal by mistake while installing the new switch. The turn signal makes no clicking noise, it just flashes the light in the fuel gauge, and the fuel indicator makes a motion in the direction of the turn signal.

It worked fine when I activated the hazard lights because the hazards overrode the default turn signal behavior.

Hope this helps someone.

ju2-h2510-20-00 is part number for "random key" switch. Comes with switch and 2 keys (only one key in rubber boot, other key bare). "XXXXX-10-00" is common key, so don't buy that one. This is for carts with 2-position key switch "off-on", not for carts with third key position to activate lights.

Cgtech I have that one xxxxx-10-00 with no keys, what do the keys only go for?
Can you ship me a few and what’s the price?

My other cart I’d like to get that random key one so no one has a key for it.

The generic part number for the key is 1922, but I would suggest going with one of our site sponsors instead. I don't ship parts, so I can't really help ya.
