Re: Ultrasonic cleaner for carb?
The "real" ultra sonic cleaners work well but the cheap ones...not so much. A good ultra sound cleaner will actually heat the water slightly and put tiny little holes all over aluminum foil after few minutes (visible when held against a light)
I have 5-gallon unit from a defunct dental office (of all places!). I have used it on dozens of carbs, from weed wackers to 4-barrels. Over the years I found that a 10 min dip in a bucket of carb cleaner and then ultra sonic for 20 minutes (with a good ultra sound cleaner) the carb comes out like new and SPOTLESS. BTW: Ultra Sonic cleaners truly excel on carbon deposits on pistons, valves etc. just blast carbon right off without detergent. |

Re: Ultrasonic cleaner for carb?
Just used the HF one on the carb and it is like it just rolled off the assembly line. I'm very impressed. The water turned from clear to murky grey color and after about 45 minutes the carb and all parts were spotless.
