Default 1986 G3A No power anywhere

Hello all,

Got a new to me cart. Bought a carb rebuild kit for it, but while waiting for it, I am trying to get the electrical sorted out.

I didn't have a key so I disassembled the key switch and grinded down the pins so a G1 key will spin the tumbler. I have a bad relay, furthest left one (2 spades) as it was unclipped from the holder and water got into it.

What is stumping me is I am getting no electrical to the fuse box, hence no headlights, nothing really.

Someone mentioned the 2 solenoids, but would these being bad cause no lights? Does it have to be running to get lights?

I went thru all the connectors and cleaned them off using a brush and deoxit. Haven't gone thru grounds yet. Both ground and positive fuses are fine as well as all the fuse box fuses.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ok, figured it out. I was wondering why I was not getting power to the fuse box or even the ignition switch. Followed the harness under the cart and right next to the muffler, the harness was literally torn in half. Repaired all the connections and now get power to the fuse box and can hear the solenoids clicking when i turn the key to forward or reverse and hitting the gas pedal.

Will be wrapping up the harness once I am 100% all electrical is functioning.

One thing down, 1,000 more things to go.
