91 yamaha
I have a 91 yamaha G9 and battery keeps going dead on it, it has a rebuilt starter generator on it , I put a meter on the battery and revved the engine and it’s pulling bolts down, also the response when you hit the gas petal is not there until you hold down few seconds. I was wondering if there is a micro switch on the pedal

Re: 91 yamaha
Do you have a meter that will read amperage?
Disconnect the negative battery terminal and hook the meter in line between the negative battery post and the terminal. You will see how much current is being pulled from the battery with everything off. It should be zero, or very close to it. If not zero, then unplug things, one at a time until unplugging something changes it and drops to zero. Whatever you unplug that drops it to zero is the cause of your drain and should be replaced. If i had to guess i'd say either the voltage regulator, or the solenoid. But I never recommend replacing a part until confirming it is the cause. |

Re: 91 yamaha
I have replaced solenoid, also when trying to start if I tried for a period of time the starter won’t still be running without pedal pressed and key off, I also had to put new ignitor on it
