DRIVE Clutch SPRING COLOR QUESTIONS
I build parade floats on my big trailer. I have put a Honda engine on my Yamaha G1 golf cart, drive system, under my trailer. 1979 My new drive clutch has PINK springs. I have tested the engine ( without the belt, on order) and the drive clutch closes, when I acel the engine. When I go back to idle, it does not reopen. My speed on the parade route is only 2 to 5 mph. I did find out that there is different colors and numbers, but have no idea what spring to buy. Now the questions...Why does my clutch stay closed back at idle, and What SPRING should I use for my parade application of driving slow. I am VERY new at this clutch thing, so don't be afraid of insulting me. I need to learn.

Have you actually tried it with a belt. The clutch was never designed to be flopping closed without a belt.

Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives’, husbands, girlfriend’s and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
 oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!! |
