Default G9 "fuel inlet cover"

How long do these usually last? Every one I see just has no cover. Is it better to just make a custom metal cover with hinges if painting cart? It is obviously a bad design. They are really cheap but that doesnt help if you have a painted cart and have to replace often. I guess my question is.... will a replacement last at least 3 or 4 years or should i just go ahead and do a custom metal one.

I took mine off to let some heat out during long hill climbs in the summer. Seemed fairly sturdy so I would have thought it would last with normal use.

Should last just fine. If you're worried about it, as you said they are cheap. Buy 2 or 3 and paint them all at the same time so if one breaks, pull it off and put another one on.

The screws that hold them on are always rusted and not worth the hassle. I used cable ties to hole mine on, through the screw holes and it works just fine.

Were all here to help. Dont think I would have gotten my G9 running to begin with if it weren't for this forum. Or my ezgo workhorse would have been burned to the ground by now if it weren't for certain members here :)

And I have 2 painted covers for mine. Ready to swap :)
