I am STILL having the same problem....Cart drives fine until it gets hot and I come to a stop. I step on the gas pedal and NOTHING..No crank, no go. The only way I can get it started again is by putting on the parking brake, then pushing down the gas pedal (which releases the parking brake with a bang) and then the motor starts up like normal.

It's very annoying..I have changed the gas pedal micro switch and the ignition key has been inspected and looks good.

when it dies, I have also tried shifting into reverse to see if it starts then, but have and NO luck..

Anyone out there have another idea?

it is an electrical problem ; ya i know that you know that ! the bang from the brake "resets" or make contact with what ever is not connection.
remove the wiring and clean every thing jump the switch to check if the part is bad , i know it will take some time and you will learn your cart better. that is the up side of what i am thinking .you did what i thought of allready btw was the e-bay switch new or an old one ?

Thanks for the reply. It was a New EZGO micro switch. What has stumped me is that it only happens after a couple miles of driving and the cart is warm.
Keep in mind I live in Arizona and it's 102 at night!

If it were electrical you would think it would happen when it was cold also, no? When my kids and I jump on it for a "night ride" it start up fine and it acts normal at every stop and go..until it get warm..

Hmmmm

Pull the rubber covers off the starter/generator, and inspect the brushes (4) see if they are to there limit marks. Check all the wire connections to the starter circuit, check operation of the soleniod

I guess my thinking was when parts get hot they expand and loose contact the slam makes contact again.
but thats is a good idea ["streachman] you can check 2 of the brushes while on the machine i belive the upper and the front one check to see if there are past there wear marks.
2 are for starting and 2 are for charging.

Hi, had the same problem with my 2005 MPT 1200 Ez Go Workhorse and it drove me nutz. Finally had the starter rebuilt and I have not had it happen again...so far.

Same problem with the bottom seat heat too, no fix so far but thinking of adding insulation under the seat.

Great looking buggy!

I'm having a very similar problem, only the brake doesn't cause my 2001 TXT Gas to start again. I have to wait till it cools, then it will go. Is there a solution on the forum that I haven't been able to find?
