Default Need help with my hei conversion....

Hi guys, new here.... My ez go died a couple of weeks ago. I put the hei module on it this morning, and installed a new coil (from my toyota pick up). Heres the problem, I have one spark when I first hit the gas and thats it.... I followed all the wiring diagrams that I've seen here and everywhere else. I confirmed I have a 150 ohm at my pulser, and it produces about a 1/2 volt ac when gas is hit. I'm stumped! Help a guy out here with any ideas. Defective hei module? Wired wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Nate.

did You grind off the tab on the back of the HEI module? If you don't, it can't make good contact or ground with the frame where You mounted it (it needs to lay perfectly flat) ... Also, it's a good idea to grind a bare spot on the frame where You mount it, helps with grounding.

*Some* coils can be finicky with HEI conversions, I went through 2 different ones (both worked, just the first one didn't like the HEI setup) with my first HEI conversion ...

Got it! I had it grounded from the hei module terminal to the frame and the coil... One too many grounds... Killer spark! Runs better than ever. Thanks for posting all of this great info guys.
