It's either a G16 or G22. Has headlights that look like G22, but has roof that looks like "not G22". If the park brake latch on brake pedal goes all the way across top of pedal = G16, if latch is only on the corner of pedal = G22. Also, rack & pinion = G22. Also look at motor, if "357cm3" is cast into engine just next to airbox =G22. Other possible identifiers- if front emblem is "round tuning forks" emblem = G22, word "YAMAHA" = G16. The round tuning fork emblem won't work correctly on G16 because of mounting screws behind emblem, but word "yamaha" emblem could work on G22.

Incorrect, G14 was 1995-96 only, and had a air inlet on the body, behind drivers legs. Since there is no air inlet in the body, I believe it's not a G14, and a 1998 would have been a G16 anyway. OK, well, on to the important question "should I buy this G16?", if the transmission is not super noisey, and the price is reasonable, absolutely. Those were good carts. Clutch noise is reasonable $ to repair, transmission noise can quickly get $$$.

if you look closely the inlet for the air cleaner is there, easy to see if you blow up the pic, I would say G-14.
