g1 top
I just bought a used top for my 81 g1 gas, its a little longer and wider than the orig,tops are not cheap, I want to paint it with auto paint and clearcoat, ive never painted a top before, its like a plastic, should it work ok with auto paint? just don't want to wast money if it don't work? thanks

When painting plastic you will need to use a adhesion promoter. Google painting plastic and read the steps..

It'll work. I just did a G1 front plastic cowl and am getting ready to squirt an entire Club Car which is plastic. Buff it pretty good and use an adhesion primer. The paint shop will have it.
