Default Turbo j38 engine

Has anyone ever turbocharged a j38 before? I was thinking of having it draw thru carb with it's own oiling system.

Used to be a guy on here that was building a supercharged and fuel injected if I remember correctly but not a J38. If you build it we will watch

Sure you could, but at 300 a clone is a new engine that is larger and why so many put those in. Or the vegas at twice that is a great deal for what you get, a built up clone that will rev more. Even a twin would be near cheaper and beyond that you can get any motorcycle engine or sled or even atv engines used maybe cheaper than a turbo on a 10hp stock engine. Would be a fun project don't get me wrong, its just that lawn and cart engines are not really made for big power and it takes a lot of mods to get them to hold up to a power adder just to start with, so you have to do all that first, and there are not many parts for stock cart engines. Certain lawn engines are better for this like vanguards and honda/clones and others that are raced so performance parts are readily available for them. But, don't let me stop you!

I like to be different. haha. That's why I drive a turbocharged ford ranger. My other G9 has a 400cc sled engine. (Need to finish). This one will be getting a V-twin of some sort soon as I find a deal on one. But the orignal engine runs too good to just pull it. I want to see how much power I can make b4 it let's go. Then the turbo will go on a built V-twin.

All I have right now is a turbo diesel. Its hard to find small enough turbos too but can be done. The biggest problem is you need to retard the timing under boost that is where a ECU would be so nice. I have a 420 just put vegas cam and rod in it with 1.3 rockers, its running pretty good but have to retune the clutch now and redo the pulse for the fuel pump, clean up some details. Then have a different carb to try on it. Its a lot of fun. I just reset the secondary and moving the engine for a new belt today.
