Default 1996 DS Throttle Cable

Hello,
I have a 1996 DS with an FE-290. The throttle cables (switch box to governor, and governor to carb cables) both need replacing due to wear. The cable from the switch box to the governor arm was a match to what the part breakdown listed and what came out of the car, but the cable that goes to the carb doesn't match. I order the cable listed for a '96 and although it looks the same as what came out of the cart, its about 1.5"-2" short. So, i ordered the cable listed for a '97 thinking maybe mine was manufactured mid year and some parts were mixed, and that one looks nothing like what came out and is about 10" to long. I was able to get the longer one in and connected at each bracket, but the excessive length causes a hard bend and bind. I also checked the described length of the '96 cable i bought to the one i got and it matched, so i didnt receive a mis manufactured item. Im at a loss as to what to do short of bypassing the governor and connecting direct. I dont want to do that because this is a plated cart that im flipping, so id rather keep everything legit and intact for legal reasons. Has anyone run into this before? Thanks for the help!

The specific cable in question here is #101522601. (Governor arm to carb for a '92-'96 DS, FE290). What came off the cart looks just like the one youll find an image of doing a web search of this part number. Its listed at 16 3/8" in length and what i received matches that length, but its about 2" or so short from reaching the mounting bracket at each end.
The next possible part would be 1018324-01 which is for a '97-2003.5 and its way too long.
The number you listed is the one that runs from the solenoid / switch box to the governor arm. There is a 4" shorter version of that cable (pn 1015225) which is what i bought and put in, and it fits perfectly.

The 16 3/8" length listed on that parts description is measuring from clevice hole to clevice hole. I would need a "hole to hole" spacing of 18" +/- an 1/8" or so as best as i can measure at the moment. The outer cable sheathing needs to be minimum 12" and idealy 12.5", measured C clip to C clip. I already sent the replacement one back, so i cant measure what it was, but it was around 10" or so. I checked the bracket this cable mounts to on both ends and they appear to be the right ones, and unmodified.

Yeah, this cable thing has been driving me crazy. I did install the longer one, but the length of it is just such that it doesnt make a nice easy loop and ends up binding and jamming.
