I'm almost done rebuilding my '80, just waiting for new points and condenser. I've never torn an engine apart before, but with a little reading on the site it was a breeze. I got my full rebuild kit from golfcartking.com (site sponsor), and you may get a better deal if you call in.

I haven't done it yet. I was just planning my winter project already. I just got done doing a body off rebuild. I'm get ready to take it out this Saturday.

1fast67 did the 80 top end rebuild kit work good with your 79? I have a 79 with the internal starter and I am trying to find the top end rebuild kit.

Yes the 80-88 kit worked fine. I would also get a wrist pin bearing and while you have it apart is a good time to put new crank seals in it. Hope this helps.

Typo. Mix your first tank at 40:1 then 128:1 after that. I mix mine at 100:1 cause my governor is not hooked up
