flushing the crankcase
I'm doing a top end rebuild on my 91 2cycle,the piston I took out was scored, burned, and the top ring was welded to the piston.I'm wondering what could have caused this.I need to know the best way to clean the crankcase because I'm afraid their might be some debris in there.I still haven't got the clutch off, tried the clutch tool(homemade) tried the bread idea,no go,am going to try the grease idea today,I don't have an impact wrench, could that be my problem?I live on an island, don't have a garage, have regular tools,so any shadetree mechanic secrets would be welcome,Thanks,Panama

Maybe lean or short on oil. the best way to clean the crankcase Flush with gas or diesel and a turkey baster(do not return to kitchen). asto the clutch stand the engine on its side soak with pb blaster or liquid wrench, put puller on tighten and walk away, lator come back and tighten a gatn, GOOD LUCK |
